XForms

Overview

XForms is a specification for defining forms using XML. You can read the specification here: http://www.w3.org/TR/xforms/.

Shodor's XForms Engine, Shodorx Forms, runs in PHP5. It lets you create XForms, present them to users via a PHP-generated HTML page, then validate and use the input values that users submit through the forms.

XForms provides not only a quick and easy way to deploy forms. It also makes forms more secure and uniform:

• It forces validation using a standardized set of input types
• It presents a standardized look-and-feel of forms across the site (though it allows CSS styling)
